Cerys and Simon are marrying at the Cheshire wedding venue Arley Hall in July of this year. We met last Saturday at the Hall in temperatures nearing minus 610 to shoot some pictures for them to use on their wedding invite. Despite the sub zero temperatures we captured some wonderful moments. Am so looking forward to July, their big day is going to be so much fun!

Mark Maclaren and the Swingsters performed at a recent wedding at the Cheshire wedding venue, The Bowdon Rooms where I was the photographer for Kate’s and Neil’s wedding. Its rare to have such accomplished musicians perform at weddings, they were just brilliant. On piano is a guy called Andrzej Baranek, who’s wedding I shot two years ago. Andrzej is one of those musicians who makes it look effortless, quite brilliant!

Jo and Dan married at the Manchester wedding venue, Great John Street Hotel at the very end of 2012. I have been the wedding photographer at this Manchester Boutique Hotel many times and have always worked with lovely couples there, Jo and Dan were no exception.Their wedding day went without a hitch. The rain held off allowing me to shoot some pictures in the surrounding streets.

Some words from Dan on receiving the finished album, “Just a quick note to say that we have received the book.  It’s great and we are both really happy with it. Once again, thanks for being part of our day and capturing it perfectly.  And as an aside, you have inspired my Mum to take up photography after looking at your website…Anyway, thanks once again. I first met Raj when he and his brother were ushers at a wedding I photographed for their friends Ruth and John about 5 years ago. We’ve since met up twice, the last time being September 2012 to shoot some family portrait photography at Dunham Massey, Altrincham, Cheshire. One of the easiest groups of people to photograph as they are a wonderful close family who are so clearly happy to part of each other’s lives.

Kevin Watson, who runs the American book publisher Press 53 contacted me towards the end of last year wanting to use an image I have on flickr for a book cover. They publish short runs of poetry and short story collections. He wanted an image for the cover of a poetry collection titled, “Dreaming of the Rain in Brooklyn”, by Howard Faerstein and saw the one below and we struck a deal. I would love to say the image was the result of careful and insightful street photography, but sadly no. It was taken in Prague about 8 years ago on a city break. We were wandering from bar to bar in the drizzle and I spotted this wall. I persuaded Sue to walk up and down for about 5 minutes with the brolly and we got the picture.

Derbyshire wedding Photographers Matt Priestley shoots Maysie and Ivan’s pre wedding photography.

Maysie and Ivan are marrying in August 2013. They are hosting their Derbyshire wedding day at their beautiful rural farmhouse. It promises to be an amazing day given the planning, energy and attention to detail they are investing. I have been the wedding photographer at many Derbyshire weddings over the years and have always sought to incorporate the dramatic landscape into the pictures and this will be no different. We had a such a good time taking the pre wedding photographs and I am now so looking forward to the day next year.
